It's easy for kids, parents, babysitters and nannies alike to get cabin fever when we're stuck inside all day due to frightful weather outside. For this reason, it's a good idea to have some indoor games and activities up your sleeve to help make the time fly by when you're cooped up in the house.
If the kids start to get a little stir crazy, parenting expert and pediatric specialist Jennifer Chung recommends throwing a dance party. “Kids have tons of energy to burn,” she says, “so if the weather is keeping everyone indoors, turn on some music and let them dance it out.” Alternatively, if you need to dial it down, Chung suggests making a fluffy nest of blankets and pillows on the floor and having a little story time.
“Indoor activities are awesome,' says education specialist Leah Kyaio, 'and can be anything from big and elaborate to small and quiet.”
We've put together a long list of indoor games and activities — both big and small — that are great for kids. This ought to keep them busy for a little while.
